Happy New Year 2011!!!

Hi there!.

I'm glad because finally I decided what to do to celebrate New Year's Eve. I'm going camping to Sarapampa's beach. I've read is a wonderfull beach. I'll post about this later. I usally don't like to celebrate but I've changed my mind since I believe in the Atraction Law. A lot of good things happens to me when I apply it. And specially this year I feel I want to celebrate life, this year has been terrible in many aspects for example:

I was aassaulted, I was defrauded by some friends for a lot of money, I fall in love in a stormy relationship, I got very sick (i was in emergency many times and daily at the hospital), I almost lost my job and  for many other things I can't reveal I really felt like I was going to die, I swear you it was like living in a nightmare, but now is all OVER. I do not have more debts, I'm taking care of my health, I feel atracted by men again, I got a promotion in my job, I feel happy for living and I'm conscious the bad things only happen in our mind. They are opportunities to grow up.

In this post I want to leave you a message for this important event in our life:

A new year is a new beginning, it's the time to close the book and start at the blank page before everything could happen.  Behind,  remains the tears you sheded for pain, love, stress......those tears are part of the air you breathe every single day. We can't change what we have done wrong, either what we have been, but at this point, the future if you want so. The Now is now and you are not crying anymore.

Deli France - Quiet Place

This week I've worked until the 30th and  that day I had to visit a client in Miraflores, close to Deli France a French Cafe I didn't know so in the way back to my job I entered this place to order a Capuccino which was kind of heavy for me (I think because of the milk they use). Deli France has a sober style very french I supposse, it's big , nice looking, very clean and the sofas are comfortable. I took a look at their wine list and it was amazing, they sell a great variety of wines and they also sell wine marriage (wine + food in a perfect combination) that sounds cool for me. What I didn't like is that I was very hurry and I wanted to exit with my coffee but they do not sell to take away...whatever. I'll return to try some marriage.

Here some photos specially taken for you:

Punta Arenas - Best Tiradito

The last sunday I went to eat at one of my favorite restaurants Punta Arenas. They prepare my favorite dish "Tiradito de Pescado" very well. As a matter of fact, they do the BEST Tiradito Bicolor I've ever tried. It's the #1 in my ranking of tiraditos!!!. The day I went I also saw a famous peruvian comedian eating there with his family. Lately, I run into many famous people in the places I go. Does it mean I'm fashion? haha...Ok. I didn't like they didn't serve me the amount of  Tiradito I was used to eat there... Or the didn't have fish or I was very hungry? Whatever I just want to show you the photos. I wasen't used to take photos of my outings, but since I have this blog I do it and you know what? It feels good. Thanks!

Here, the photos I took:

New Year's Eve - Where to party?

I'm not an specialist in going to parties, however I like to have new experiences so if a party seems to be cool and different I go. It reminds me an advertising I received some days ago about a fabolous "arabic party" in the countryside of Lima, close to Pantanos de Villa. The photos of the place looks amazing and they said they organized a New Year's party called the "hawaian party" the last year and it was a success. They also organized a few time ago an event called the Pirates Party. I saw the photos in a magazine and  that moment I  thought it was very cool. In conclussion the company that make these thematic parties seems to be trusty. You can also find their past events at www.esinteractiva.com

I don't know yet where to go =S  . I'd prefer to travel, although.

Parque de la Imaginación - Imagination Park

The well named "Parque de la Imaginación" is an interactive museum that mixes technology, imagination and science in a funny way so you learn as the same time you are kind of playing a game. It's cool and relatively new in Peru (2008). It's organized in educational modules divided on: science, space, life, energy, biodiversity, ilusion and mechanics. In which one there are "games" and a guide that allows you to experiment cause-effect while you are interacting. The park is really big and also is a good idea made by peruvian capitals. I went this year and it was not crowded. I hope more people get to know this beautiful place. The  tion park is located in San Miguel, close to Plaza San Miguel where you can eat, shop, drink or take coffee. Then it's perfect for a day in San Miguel. Ahh...I forgot...the ticket costs 8 soles and it's for all the games, during all the time you want to stay. Inside there's a snacks shop I don't recommend, so eat before going.

Here some photos of my visit:

El Bolivariano - Eat, Drink and Dance in a single one place

El Bolivariano is an oldfashioned restaurant that still conserves a traditional arquitecture since the Simon Bolivar's times. They said in their page they try to preserve the flavor of the antique peruvian cuisine and I agree very much. El Bolivariano is like a time machine not only for their very peruvian food, but for the decoration inside. You will find many rooms where to sit. The first one is the dining room "Manuelita"  in honor of Manuelita Saenz, Simon Bolivar's lover. The second one is the hall "Los Libertadores" (the liberators) where the party at night takes place, its capacity is for 250 people. The third room is La Pérgola, small and quite with a view to an antique Pisco machine and some botijas (botija is a container where the pisco get macerated). The fourth is the Boli-Bar,decorated as in the 19th century. And the last but not least, the hall Independencia a big room specially for events. They offer a buffet in lunch time until 4:30 pm with a huge variety of delicious peruvian dishes. The quality of the buffet is very good and the price is relatively cheap compared with other buffets of the same quality. You can try the buffet at any room you are so even a lot of people go you will neve find it crowded. At night they have a room to drink and dance, the music goes since peruvian music to 90's. The specialty to drink at these nights is their Res: a 750 mlt botlle of Pisco, a Ginger Ale and some ingredients to prepare your Chilcano (peruvian coctel) by your self. This room at night is full and is the perfect place to get very drunked with our pisco. I just remember a party there, the next day a horrible headache and vomiting the all day. That's because the famous pisco Queirolo is not one of the finest.

Parque Castilla - Running park in Lince

Today I was in Lince and I posted some things about that in my previous post. I also told you before that I love running so I like to proove different routes to run. In fact, in this post I'm going to tell you about a large green park in Cesar Vallejo Avenue toward the Santos Dumont's park. This parks is named Parque Castilla and by me is a running park. You know  that to run is better to do it in a place there are a lot of trees so that you can breath pure air and your lungs will thank you....sooooo I found this point as an alternative to change my running routes. The area is safe. In the morning there are many people running there, at the afternoon I have seen very few people but the area is still safe, at the evening don't pick this park it's kind of dark and I don't know if it's safe but you know what the grandmom says: never go to dark an lonely places. If you want to run at night better choose Miraflores. Once, I run at 12:00 am with one friend a big part of the Costa Verde. I must admit it was frightening so imagine my adrenaline, of course I was stoned.

Santos Dumont Park - When a simplest thing is just beautiful

Today I went to eat at the Blue Moon. After that I walked in a place I'd like to live, Lince. This is located in Cesar Vallejo Avenue. Starting by that I love Vallejo's poetry. Beside that there's two beautiful and large parks. Since my point of view one is specially designed for running and the other for family or couples enterteinment. In this post I'm going to tell you about one of the parks called in spanish Parque Santos Dumont, in the next post I'll talk about the running park. I know the pictures talk themselves then you will agree with me in the point this park is just amazing. I've never been in the United States so I can imagine an american native reading my blog can think it's not something to be surprised or maybe agree with me, I just don't know and don't care at all =P . In Lima close to my house there'are not so many parks as magical as this, I've never seen parks like this in Miraflores or San Isidro, and the nice parks ove there have the flower or candy's sellers I hate (they always interrupt). Thus, I never see this park so crowded, at the afternoon the lake can turn very romantic, there're a mini-gym outdoor and a playground for children and adults. It looks like a country club and the best of all a lot of things are free or very cheap. I take many photos this time and hope you enjoy this park as much as me. I wonder how simplest thing as walking may turn into a moment to remember.

Me and Sports

Let me introduce you a brief story about my "sports biography". Since I was a child I've loved so much sports, more doing than watching'em on TV. Then at 14 years old I started going to the gym, I developed a passion for gyms and training so I almost know every good gym in Lima, at least until the last 4 years aprox. Why I left? I'll tell you later. I also love to eat so there've always been a dilemma because I stopped training and I started gaining weight. At the gym I learned that running outdoor is healthier so I saw it like a way to exercise when I didn't pay my membership at the gym. I also love swimming and DO love basketball. Then my activities allways oscilate between running, swiming, playing basketball or training at the gym. You must think I'm a super model, but not, I'm too irresponsaible with my health to be sporty .

The sad part of the story is that at 23 I got my knees broken because "too much exercise" the doctor said. I got operated and then I was suppossed to return to the gym in a month but was bullshit I still felt pain in my knees then I got my knees infiltrated to calm the pain but I had to stopp exercising and playing basketball like a year. When I returned to the gym the rhythm I was forced to train was so boring, I felt frustrated, helpless and sad. The I started swimming often to rehab my knees and I discovered It was a fasctinating world. I used to swim at night and met very nice people in the pool. Isn't cool to meet people in the water?

At my 25's I started training hard at the gym, running and swimming at the same time and that's why my upper arms are strong but then I started a new job and I didn't have time to go the gym. I also was moody because an stupid relationship with an asshole. With the stress of the new job and that guy I didn't want to do anything else. Now, at my current age which is 27 I'm back on sports and I'll show you a way to have fun and stay in shape at the same time. This weekend I'll take photos and post more about it. It's never late to do sports, I hope I persuade you some way.

Please wait  for my new posts ;-)

Puro Peru

In my opinion, Puro Peru is the best peruvian buffet you can taste. I've gone to many buffets and this wins the gold medal. The place is simple and comfortable, the desserts are wonderful, the food is impeccably presented and the flavor IS peruvian cuisine. The attention is fast (not like other buffets you have to wait to order something to drink) and I forgot the place is enormous so hardly you will find it full. I saw in their webpage they offer a traditional show but when I went (on weekends) they didn't. They only attend for lunch until 4:30 pm. Don't be late! I hpe you enjoy this place as much as me, it is one of my favorite's. However, staying at Lima I don't recommend you to go again and again and again to the same place because there's a huge offer of A1 restaurants you can visit, and new ones born everyday in Peru.

Blue Moon - Restaurant & Bar

This is he BEST, FABOLOUS AND ROMANTIC place I've ever been. If you read this post looking for recommendations you're going to thank me your entire life. The place is just amazing, so italian, so warming, so passionate, so hidden and the food is ....It's like a chapter of the last dinner. If you go with your fiance I swear your evening finishes in sex (at least in my case if I had a boyfriend). Blue Moon offers a fantastic buffet (I'm no joking when I say It looks like the last dinner) that you'd like to have a boundless stomach. And if you want to take a drink or date with somebody this is the point. There's a huge collection of wine, whisky, cognac and other elegant liquors. The backgound music is Chamber o Classical and the waitresses boss is a middle-age man who called me "signorina". I'm going to show you photo but I'm sure they're nothing compared with being in the spot. I forgot a comment I think this restobar (restaurant & bar) is not very known, I just knew about it because I was walking over there. It's memorable!.

Amazing photos:

Junius

The last friday I went to the Doubletree El Pardo hotel in Miraflores for a company event and it reminded me a point I haven't talked yet and this is Junius a restaurant inside the hotel which is very known for their buffet and peruvian folk dance shows. Yeap you can watch traditional dances of the whole Peru while you're eating, sounds nice right? It's even nice for me being native. The buffet is ok, I mean I know better buffets (larger and more delicious) but including the show (only for dinner time) and the centrally situated of the spot Junius is all right. I've seen many foreign people there.

La Granja Azul

Sorry for not posting more often. Supposedly  I was going to post every single day, but some days are turned very bussy. So here I am to post again and again until you die, haha. Ok, today I'm going to tell you about my trip on wednesday 8th. The company where I belong drive us to La Granja Azul (the blue farm), a place located at 1:20 hour of  San Isidro. This place is usually hired for events and family ceremonies, then it is not so crowded and public. They offer a lunch of unlimited baby chicken with unlimited french fries potatos and unlimited salad and one glass of La Granja Azul's pisco sour wich is not so bad (not so good either). They also have a play ground with artificial climbing walls, quads circuit (both for adults and children) and another enterteinment I didn't see close but I know there are and they mention in their website, like a little train trip, artificial lake with pedal boats, walks on ponies, etc. I don't think it's some of the best place I've ever been but it's no so bad. The baby chicken is its specialty but for me was OK, maybe you should go and try because a lot of people say the baby chicken is the best.

I didn't take photos, but I share with you a collage I made with 2 photos I found in the Web:
