Night Tour at Miraflores

Yesterday, I met with my friend Mónica to go for some drinks. She was upset because the guy she liked didn't show interest on her. As a matter of fact that man is a very stupid one. Then she told she wanted revanche. We went to Kennedy Park and we met there with Anselmo, another friend. I whish they get alone very well, but it ended up as all the opposite. I found in a seat a 50 soles bill and to celebrate my luck we agreed to go to the Pub Inglés, a bar that Mónica chose. Our surprise was big when we saw a lot of VERY old men like in their 60 -70's, the majority had an enterpreneur or high executive look and they were flirting with young girls, most in their mid twenties!!. Anselmo said they were horks, but those girls didn't look horks to me, they dressed very decent. My friend Mónica told me that she chose that place because a friend of her recommended it, so maybe in another day of the week it is cool. We get bored on that bar and we decided to go to another Mónica's point, then we went to La Bohème in Ovalo Gutierrez, an exclusive restaurant in the first floor and a pub in the second floor. I didn't know about that bar existed and I touhght for myself how fine Mónica is. Our surprise was big again, the people didn't look like criminal but they absolutely weren't from Miraflores, they looked as nothing special  except for Anselmo that found a girl he liked and that girl was corresponding to him. Then Mónica and I decided to go to another place and Anselmo stayed in La Bohème with his girl. We went to Mama Batata in Larcomar, a place where it's common to find foreign people, but the best of all is that the entrance is free (I hate to pay that), that saturday there were few foreign people, and the few of them were rounded of girls, the boys who just came in were catched inmediately by other girls. I'm not good at flirting, my friend is kind of serious so we were just looking and cualifying boys, in that activity we met another 2 girl friends, very cool and pretty, the 2 of them were alone because her friends disappeared with some guys. I specially liked one of them, she told us she even go alone to the bar if she doesn't have a girl friend to hang out, she was sexy, pretty and had too much attitude. We agreed to stay in touch and we exchanged numbers. It was another surprise for me because what we were looking for was to exchange numbers with men haha. It was a night full of surprises!!! After a while, I went to the toilet and when I returned Mónica were dancing with a boy, then she came out the place to drink with him, the sexy new friend was dancing with another man that works as personal trainner, he gave his card after. The another girl found her friend and said good bye to me. It was kind of funny and frustrating as the same time, I was totally alone. I didn't like nobody who were alone too, besides I had to wait for my friend and I was happy she finally could consume her revanche.Then I felt forced to interrupt my new friend who was kissing the boy in that moment, I told her I ended up alone and they invited me to dance with them in a group of three, in that moment she gave me her number and he gave me his card, until my friend returned to go home.

Mis Costillitas - Ribs and Grilled "snacks"

Well, at first I have clear up that I didn't find an exact translation por "piqueo" because I understand snack like something not too heavy but these "grilled snaks" are really greassy and heavy, not kidding. I had an awful stomachache despite to a lunch in honor of Alicia, a good friend and co-worker. Please don't missunderstand me, the food is delicious and the quality is all right, but it's not light at all. The salad is very simple and too small while the french fries potatos and meet are a considerably amount. I do not like the salad not event the french fries potatos they serve but the ribs and the grilles "snacks" rock my world =) . I've been in the location of San Miguel and another in Miraflores.The taste is not wide different between both locations but I rather Mis Costillitas from Miraflores even though it's smaller. Go! eat! enjoy! punish your stomach once in a while.

Frogurt - Frozen Yogurt and New Concept

Hi,

Today I'm going to talk about a new place I've recently met. It's called Frogurt and it's like a light icecream shop. They say the icecream is in fact frozen yogurt (but there's also chocolate), it has 0 fats and only 84 calories for each 100 grs which is a normal ration. I ate 300 grs although and I didn't feel it heavy at all. In Lima this is a new concept on icecream shops because you can serve yourself as much as you want and put the toppings or fruits you want and then you pay the weight, awsome!!. I love this place and I found out some photos in facebook, hope you like it too.

Dubal - Latin Disco

Last week I met a friend I haven't seen in a long time. It was a day before New Year's Eve so we decided to warm up for parties in tour over bars and discos in Miraflores. Unfortunately, the majority of them were closed or almost empty  =(  they didn't look so cool to take photos. From all the places we visit there was only one I haven't post yet and worth to it, the other ones suck in better case that day they were a shit. So, the winner is named Dubal a latin disco in Miraflores. It has lounge style, better beers than drinks, nice girls, ugly men, latin music, regaetton and salsa all them perfect  to dance. Not so big but enought to make the party. I've heard by a girl from my job you can have a great time in that club, you can also find a girlfriend, my co-worker did. Those girls seem to be friendly so go ahead and flirt. If you are girl I saw some men (not recommended) looking for girls. However, my opinions are mostly based on what I've heard because the day I chose to go was kind of poor.

Deli France - Quiet Place

This week I've worked until the 30th and  that day I had to visit a client in Miraflores, close to Deli France a French Cafe I didn't know so in the way back to my job I entered this place to order a Capuccino which was kind of heavy for me (I think because of the milk they use). Deli France has a sober style very french I supposse, it's big , nice looking, very clean and the sofas are comfortable. I took a look at their wine list and it was amazing, they sell a great variety of wines and they also sell wine marriage (wine + food in a perfect combination) that sounds cool for me. What I didn't like is that I was very hurry and I wanted to exit with my coffee but they do not sell to take away...whatever. I'll return to try some marriage.

Junius

The last friday I went to the Doubletree El Pardo hotel in Miraflores for a company event and it reminded me a point I haven't talked yet and this is Junius a restaurant inside the hotel which is very known for their buffet and peruvian folk dance shows. Yeap you can watch traditional dances of the whole Peru while you're eating, sounds nice right? It's even nice for me being native. The buffet is ok, I mean I know better buffets (larger and more delicious) but including the show (only for dinner time) and the centrally situated of the spot Junius is all right. I've seen many foreign people there.

Café 21 at Thunderbird Hotel

A quite atmosphere, high quality attention, delicious desserts and drinks make Cafe 21 a memorable point. They also have concerts the weekends at night with soft music not too loud. Is the perfect place to go to read a book or to have a business meeting or anything you must pay attention. I haven't tasted their dishes but the desserts are really good, the coffee they use is not something I remember and I never forget a good coffee but the drink....ohhh God they are an A+++.... I've tasted some drinks with my friends many times and it's a MUST to try the bar, the coctels are the classic ones (in  Peru), you know: pisco sour, daiquiri, algarrobina..etc but is a unique flavor you will never forget. Public is people with money (the place is expensive)any age.

La Máquina -Culture and Pleasure

The slogan of La Máquina is Culture and Pleasure and it is in some way you can feel the art when you enter, the enviroment is awsome , very excentric and unusual, for example the last time I went they had T-shirts hunged up under the roof and we could smell marijane on the air. The restroom is only one for men/women. They also have a room called "La habitación del rescate (the rescue room)" where periodically an artist show his work, some day it is a photo gallery, another is a room installation and so on. The food and the drinks are also unusual, you can drink hot wine or piscolatte or coffee with pisco and these beverages are difficult to find at any café as well as their appetizers. It's easy to get because the café is ubicated in the heart of Miraflores at the back of the Banco de Crédito which is very known. The mayority of its public is young people and turists any age. La Máquina is one of my favorite cafés, hope you like it too.

Art Déco - European Style

Art Déco is one of the most beautiful lounges I've ever met. Is just so magical and artistic! and wait to see the toilet, its papel is the finest thing my 3 letters (a-s-s) has sensed,haha. The handwashing sink has electronic sensors and everything  in the restroom smell good (well, I haven't investigated so deep, you can guess why). The barman and even the waiters are hot, I'm sorry I didn't see the waitress (I'm a girl you know) and to smoke you don't have to exit the place, they have a closed room very well and barroc style decorated where you can smoke and take your drink if you want. They also have big art pieces and black and white old movies on the walls. The drinks are delicious and considerable size. The only thing I don't like of this lounge is that is kind of hidden, the area is safe but you can't get to there easyly if you don't know Miraflores. The public is around 30's or more who look for a nice and elegant enviroment to talk.

Glow - New bar at Miraflores

The last bar I've recently met is called Glow which has an innovative and modern architecture, at first sight it promises you will have a great night!!!. The atmosphere is very friendly, the owner is 27 years old so I think his public is people in their 20's or early 30's. And I'm talking about nice people: professionals who live very close or in quiet places and of course who do speek english. I tell you this because sadly in Miraflores there are another places like the well known "Calle de las Pizzas" where no desirable people go. I've seen prostitutes (or girls dressed as pros in a better case) and bad-face people there, but also go medium-to-low-class and hard working people who doesn't want your money but maybe they don't speek english at all. So, I personally don't recommend it.

Continuing with the bar, Glow has a lounge style with tables who light different colors and change any time. The Pisco they use for their coctels is Biondi which is one of the best  (Pisco is a peruvian liquor). The local has a dance area with mirrors on the walls and the music is very cool like electronic, rock, etc. The time I went with my friends we promise to come back, so I'll try to make photos to show you Ok?.
